In the ancient times of mythology, Apples were the symbol for love. Aside from mythology, we also read a lot of stories that associated with apples. It was probably one of the first trees to be cultivated and the wild ancestors of the Apple family was found in the central parts of Asia. The tree was improved as years go by and was imported to different parts of the world.
Apples vary in color from yellow, green and red. They vary also in taste because some are really sweet while others are sour.
Apples are rich in Vitamin C, Potassium, Iron and Beta-carotene. Minerals such as malic acid is found apples which is good for the intestines. It contains Boron to strengthen the bones and it was believed that people who suffer from asthma should drink a glass of apple juice daily to help minimize wheezing.
Eating apples daily can lower one's cholesterol, prevent colon and liver cancer, treatment for eye and heart diseases.
Apples are used mainly in pastries such as breads, pies, tarts and jams. But they can also be used as garnish or in main entrees.
