Christmas is in the air and what we cook mostly during this season is MEAT - and i mean lots of it!
After we purchase the meat from the market a few days before Christmas, we get home and we usually clean the meat and place it in a container then storing it in the freezer.
A few days had passed and it's Christmas Eve. Time for cooking!
Now, how do we thaw the meat properly? Here are some useful tips to thaw the meat properly without destroying it.
1. If you have lots of time to prepare, you can thaw the meat by putting the frozen meat inside the refrigerator and leave it until it's completely thawed. In this way, you're sure that the meat is completely safe rather than leaving it outside using room temperature. Also, you can do other things while waiting for the meat to thaw. Remember to place a tray or a big platter beneath the frozen meat for the dripping water.
2. If you are in a hurry, you can thaw the meat on running water. Be sure that the meat is wrapped with plastic so that the excess water will not ruin its flavor.
Microwave ovens are not really recommendable because sometimes, the heat of the microwave will already start to cook the outer layer of the meat while inside of the it, it's still frozen.
