And now, a new feature is added! :) My partner and I were celebrating our special day yesterday. Since last week, we were planning that we should be dining somewhere which we haven't tried yet or we seldom go to. It's like we thought of exploring on different types of dishes and thinking that this could be our new hobby. So then he told me, he once dined in a restaurant named Racks. He described the food as "very delicious" and that we will definitely get our money's worth because of the generous servings. So I said why not try it, it will be fun to taste something new.
Then the date is set!
What came into my mind was maybe I should be adding a new feature in my blog that shows different restaurants and cafés. That would make my blog more interesting! But I don't want to make it sound like I'm a food critic, probably because I don't like the idea of judging restaurants or dishes of which I'm not aware of the owner's purpose and ideas. So with that, I decided that this new feature will be something fun to read, something that's from my point of view only and maybe it will also encourage you guys to try it out for yourselves. I asked my partner what will the name of the label for this feature be? He came up with Deli-Restau, which means Delicious Restaurant - too obvious right? :) So here it is, my first entry.
RACKS or Real American Country Kitchen Style was established at 1992 in Makati, Philippines. They became famous for their American style "flamed grilled" ribs that "falls off" from the bone dishes. These meaty ribs are marinated with special herbs, spices and ingredients causing it to be soft therefore their slogan goes because the meat really falls off from the bones. The ambiance is nice, you could observe the whole restaurant has the country atmosphere from the tables, chairs and the decorations. The staff are very courteous, once they see customers approaching the door, they immediately approach them and ask "Table for how many?", smiling. After choosing a comfy area, we sat, then a waiter approached us and handed us two menus. We began choosing, and there were plenty of dishes to choose from.
The Onion Brick
After a few minutes of choosing and ordering, the waiter informed us that we have to wait 15 minutes for the food to be cooked and served but not longer than 10 minutes, we could see him bringing our first meal. These onion rings are so plenty! Based on its name "Brick", it was literally in a form of a brick. I wonder how they do it? The onions seems to be intertwined with one another and as we pull one ring, it went on until a ring measured 6 inches in diameter. Really I'm not kidding! Are those high-breed onions that they are serving? But it tastes so delicious! The rings were served along with two dips. One is made up of mayonnaise with spices and the other seems to be like a barbecue flavored dip.
Classic Caesar Salad
Next came the salad. The romaine lettuce was fresh and the croutons were crunchy. We saw that they really added lots of Parmesan Cheese and bacon bits. The amount of salad dressing was just right.
Carbonara
Garlic-butter Bread
The Carbonara was served with garlic-butter bread. The pasta was delicious, it has the usual Carbonara taste, The bread was not too toasted - very tasty :)
Racks Classic Pork Ribs
We wouldn't let the night pass without trying the House Specialty. Every order of ribs comes along with two side dishes and we chose Mac and Cheese and Potato Salad. It was so delicious! The meat was very tender and the sauce is very savory.
Bottomless Iced Tea
Our drinks! :)
What can I say about my experience in Racks? I will definitely recommend you to try this one. They really mean it when they said that each dish is generously served with an affordable price. I could say that we will be back next time to try the other dishes. I'm sure the other dishes will taste delicious as well as the ones we had. The atmosphere was nice and clean; the staff were friendly and polite, they kept on checking on us if we needed anything and they kept on filling our mugs with Iced Tea; the food tastes great! A great place to spend time and enjoy with your special someone or with your family.
