The Big Coconut: Eggs


Eggs existed since the time dinosaurs believed to exist. Eggs are laid by females from the species of reptiles, amphibians, birds and fish. The most eggs consumed are from chicken and others such as ducks, quail and roe follow next. Eggs have a hard outer layer covering which is the shell. Most egg shells are white, cream or light brown. 

Eggs are high in protein especially the yolks. Yolks are colored yellow and the transparent liquid that surrounds the yolk is called albumen or simple egg white. Eggs contain Lutein which is good for the eyes and it also contain Choline that is good for the brain and nervous system. Eating eggs regularly helps develop healthy hair and nails.

Eggs have a big part in the world of culinary. Eggs are a binding component in making cakes and other types of batters. Eggs can be cooked as it is either boiling, poaching and frying while it can be combined with other ingredients as well.
