Recipes to Share: Chocolate Mousse


Ingredients:
1 100g bittersweet or semi-sweet chocolate
1 1/2 tbsp unsalted butter
1 pinch salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 large eggs, separated
2 tbsp sugar
1/2 cream
2 tsp gelatin powder
1/4 cup water

Procedures:
1. Coarsely chop cocolates and put it in a double boiler.

2. Melt chocolates over hot water using the double boiler.

3. Remove from heat then add butter.

4. Stir until the butter has melted completely. Then add the salt.

5. Add the vanilla extract then mix well.

6. Add the egg yolks one at a time and mix after each one.

7. In a small bowl, prepare the gelatin mixture by combining the water and gelatin powder. Stir well until the powder is fully dissolved.

8. In another bowl, add the egg whites.

9. Beat the eggs until soft peaks form.

10. Add sugar gradually then continue beating.

11. Beat until egg whites become stiff but still moist. Set aside.

12. Mix the gelatin mixture with the chocolate mixture. Then add fold in the egg whites.

13. Fold egg whites into the chocolate completely.

14. Beat the cream in a bowl.

15. Fold in the cream until well combined. Pour on rectangular container and chill. Slice mousse to your desired sized. Serve and Enjoy! : )
